As a parent of two young kids, we always look for family-friendly activities when we are on vacation. We often consider the proximity of fun things to do when booking our accommodations so we can maximize ways to create memories. Let’s face it - if the kids are happy, the parents are happy, and it’s easier for everyone! What better way to make the kids happy than by booking a kid-friendly hotel with a pool in Kelowna?
There are several hotels within city limits that have waterslides and pools that are open year-round. You don’t even have to pack up and get the kids ready to keep them entertained - just put on your bathing suits, take an elevator, and go for a swim!

TownePlace Suites by Marriott West Kelowna
This place makes a great home away from home. We recently stayed there for a staycation and the kids loved the indoor pool, hot tub and waterslide.
Something we loved about the suites at this hotel is that all of the rooms here include a full kitchen, complete with cooktops, fridge/freezer, and dishwashers - because who wants to do dishes on their vacation? Guests can also take advantage of the outdoor barbecues available, and the hotel provides all the tools, spices and recipes necessary for all of your grilling needs. If your family includes a pet, this place is dog-friendly. There is also an on-site restaurant and wine bar that is open nightly. We recommend the nachos, and our kids enjoyed the flatbread. Bonus for the grown-ups - if you’re a beer lover, this place offer pitchers of the local brews that are easy on the wallet.
Don’t forget to take advantage of their free breakfast to start your day. The selection was huge - there were waffles, eggs, and sausages for those who are looking for something warm to kick off their morning, and also plenty of cereals and muffins to choose from. After breakfast, head out for a family walk along the lake at Gellatly Bay Park, a scenic trail that is just a few minutes drive away. This park links several beaches and a couple of playgrounds along its 2km promenade.
Fairfield Inn & Suites West Kelowna

Across the street from TownePlace Suite is the recently renovated Fairfield Inn & Suites West Kelowna. This hotel also boasts a waterslide, pool, and a hot tub. If you’re travelling with one to three year olds, you’ll likely spend a lot of your time splashing around - something that is unique about this property is a toddler-friendly water park beside the pool. A free hot breakfast is included with your stay here as well, and across the parking lot are a few restaurants, a pub, and a boutique grocery store if you’re looking for a quick and walkable destination for lunch and dinner.
Less than a couple of kilometres away is Just4Fun, an indoor play area that includes a bouncy house, an inflatable slide and a 4-level play structure. Toddlers three and under also have their own section complete with a ball pit and interactive toys. Our kids love racing down the big red triple slide.

Right in the heart of downtown, the Delta features pools, onsite restaurants, and walking trails at your doorstep. If you’re able to line up a babysitter, the hotel complex is also home to a spa and casino for Mom and Dad! The indoor pool is open in the winter, and if you’re visiting in the summer, you can choose from either the indoor or the outdoor pool for your lounging pleasure.
This hotel also features a family fun zone every long weekend that includes games, arts and crafts, and a movie room showing kid-friendly shows. Up for a challenge? Grab a paddle and see who’s the ping-pong champion in the family.

Close to the junction of Highway 97 and Highway 33 is the Comfort Suites Kelowna.
