Tourism Kelowna introduces its new blog, KelownasJuicyTips.com. Through this blog, we will reach a broad marketplace of tourists, inspiring them to plan a trip to Kelowna.
“The primary goal of our new blog is to strengthen our marketing of Kelowna with consumers,” says Nancy Cameron, CEO of Tourism Kelowna. “The nature of blogging is to provide a personal voice and character with which people can identify. The recommendations that come from blogs are attractive to consumers who ultimately place high levels of faith in the experiences of other people. The other benefit to having a digital media presence is that it is borderless: our fans throughout the globe can share their experiences through the blog.”
This type of dialogue creates connectivity and ownership, which translates into enhanced tourism experiences and valuable word-of-mouth advertising. Readers are encouraged to share their ideas, experiences, or additional suggestions by commenting on blog posts.
In addition to KelownasJuicyTips.com, Tourism Kelowna’s Catherine Frechette participates once a week with 103.9 The Juice’s Drive-Home DJ, Ken Allan Joonyer, providing a 5-minute travel segment on air every Friday throughout the summer at 5:10 p.m. Together with The Juice, Tourism Kelowna is hosting a contest to win a Flip Video Camcorder twice this summer.

As a Destination Marketing Organization (DMO), Tourism Kelowna invests in advertising, promotion, and sales strategies that build consumer demand for the destination resulting in increased visitation and spending. It also operates the Visitor Centres of Harvey Avenue at Ellis Street and of the Kelowna International Airport. The primary funding source for Tourism Kelowna continues to be the Additional Hotel Room Tax that is collected by local accommodators.
