  • These offers are available to tourism related businesses
  • The Central Okanagan includes Peachland in the south to Lake Country in the north
  • Only participating businesses within the Central Okanagan are eligible to vote for the Tourism Kelowna Board of Directors

The Necessities Advertising Package

This high value, multi-medium advertising package will allow your business to capture consumers from the thousands of travel inquiries that Tourism Kelowna generates through its annual advertising strategies.

A business listing and link on www.tourismkelowna.com means that you are also listed through our site on the websites of the Thompson Okanagan Tourism Association, Tourism British Columbia, Canadian Tourism Commission, numerous other travel sites and media sites. With one simple link you are connected to a vast network of international travel sites and their consumers.

  • 2009 Official Kelowna & Area Visitors' Guide Listing
  • 2008 Kelowna & Area 19" x 17" Counter Map listing for attractions
  • Visitor Centre Brochure Racking for one 4" x 9" brochure (oversized brochures will be charged for additional pockets at $50 per pocket)
  • 1 stakeholder vote for Tourism Kelowna Board of Directors (available only to businesses within the Central Okanagan)

Airport Brochure Racking

Rack your brochure at the Kelowna International Airport for exposure to over 1,200,000 travelers.

Includes:

  • Racking of one 4" x 9" brochure or rack card for a one year period

Shell Aero Centre Brochure Racking

Rack your brochure at the Shell Aero Centre and access visitors traveling by private aircraft. Available only to those who rack at the Kelowna International Airport.

Includes:

  • Racking of one 4" x 9" brochure or rack card for a one year period

Meetings & Incentive Travel Advertising Program

All facets of this program focus on building meeting and incentive travel business from throughout Canada, with emphasis placed on the Greater Toronto Area. Specifically, this program will promote the facilities and services of the participating businesses. Three options for involvement exist.

M&IT Package 1 - Includes:

  • Booth space and décor at Incentive Works (buyer attendance: 3,000+)
  • Booth space and décor at CSAE Showcase (buyer attendance: 600+)
  • Kelowna sponsorship at/of CSAE Showcase (2008 activities only)
  • Reception for CSAE BC Chapter Members (buyer attendance: 167 - 2008 activities only)
  • Full page formatted ad in 2008-2010 M&IT sales brochure (5,000 distribution over 2 years)
  • 300 copies of 2008-2010 M&IT sales brochure & destination pages only
  • Logo and link in the M&IT section of www.tourismkelowna.com

$3,500 per year with a 2-year commitment

Travel Agent Advertising Program

This program consists of 4 seasonally focused destination e-mail campaigns. Each campaign runs for three months and consists of one e-mail per month.

These communications are specifically designed to drive travel agents to our partner advertising packages listed on www. tourismkelowna.com/traveltrade.

This program is designed for businesses interested in providing commissionable packages for sale by travel agents.

Includes:

  • 3 e-mail blasts per season
  • Package posted on www.tourismkelowna.com/traveltrade during campaign. Total monthly circulation to travel agencies is 21,878 (increase of 93% over 2007) and is broken down as follows:
  • Canada = 5,796
  • USA - Washington = 656
  • Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming = 550
  • California, Texas, New York City, Boston = 4,348
  • UK = 5,311
  • Germany = 5,217

Group Tour Advertising Program

This program consists of a bundle of advertising opportunities specific to the group tour market. It has been designed to increase group travel visitation and length of stay by promoting the destination and the advertisers experiences to group travel buyers.

This program is pertinent to those tourism businesses interested in further developing their group travel or group FIT (Free and Independent Travel) markets.

Includes:

  • Formatted advertisement on flat sheet distributed to delegates of the 2008 National Tour Association (NTA) Spring Meet and Fall Convention (buyer circulation: 850)
  • Formatted advertisement on flat sheet to distribute at the American Bus Association Annual Convention for tour delegates (buyer circulation: 700)
  • Formatted advertisement on flat sheet to Travel Alliance Partners (buyer circulation: 34)
  • Access to all group travel leads
  • New for 2008: Direct mailing to the Group Leaders of America (circulation: 1,286)

185,000 guides are used to fulfill all travel inquiries received by Tourism Kelowna. They are also distributed as shown below.

Distribution Details:

  • 21% fulfillment to direct inquiries through website, local Visitor Centre and Airport Kiosk
  • 10% trade shows, travel agents and direct sales contacts
  • 13% Visitor Centres within BC
  • 13% Visitor Centres within Alberta & Washington
  • 12% events, tournaments and conference participants
  • 31% local distribution through hotels, attractions, restaurants and retail
